I watched you sleep, your breath> making me think of kittens,> kittens who are content by fireplaces> with a gentle firm hand stroking their back.> I wished you would grow ears, show fur> so I would have an excuse to gently run my hands> down that question mark in your body.> But human you remained, in your body at least.> Your hair had dropped down over your face> as you lay there on your underside.> I watched the hair slide down your neck,> envied it for its placement in life.> Could the hair of your head know what privledge it> bore?> Having the pleasure of caressing your face> for no reason whatsoever except that it was borne to> do so.> I slipped my hands over to your face,> gently glided the hair from masking you.> My mouth and brain could not form words> as you opened your earthly eyes to regard me.
